yoking

Info

yoking is a group exhibition presented by FOYER-LA, bringing together the work of seven women artists. The exhibition explores places of interconnection — the act of joining individuals, ideas, and forms — moving through themes of impermanence, the body, gravity, and transformation. Together the works create a layered space where the interior and exterior, the visible and invisible, find temporary union.

I am showing tow sculptures: The sculpture BY THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF A THIN BLUE LINE—A CUBE BECOMING A GESTURE is made from white, slightly grayish paper that has a textile quality. Its zipper has radiant blue color. The other sculpture, BETWEEN FOLDS AND CURVES—A CUBE, is made from a rose-reddish fabric, whose semi-transparency makes it possible to see its orange zippers through the fabric.

Artists: Leslie Brack, Christine Elfman, Ellie Krakow, Sheng Lor, Sandra Peters, Dena Robertson, and Katrina Umber
